QC Marathon is another success! Breaks all-time participants record

QC Marathon 2014 kicked it off to another successful year! In fact, the most successful year to date, with over 5750 registrants running total in the Marathon, half-marathon, 5K, marathon relay, marathon pump n run, half marathon pump n run, and the 5K pump n run. The event was in the morning of Sunday, September 28th 2014.

The mens winner was Sammy Malakwen with a time of 2:15:41, while the womens winner was Ruth Kimutai with a time of 2:42:25, both very impressive times especially considering this year was one of the hottest QC Marathon races ever.

Congratulates to all the participants, the QC Marathon director Joe & the committee, and all the volunteers. You all did a fantastic job yet again!

Animals are part of our world, please donate to QC Animal Welfare Center

The Quad City Animal Welfare Center is a “no kill” animal shelter in the Quad Cities, meaning they will take in helpless animals, never put any “down” meaning they are always in need of help from people (like you?) to adopt these wonderful dogs, cats and “other critters”. They charge a fee per adoption, which covers the cost of spaying and/or neutering, vaccinations and a few other necessary things.

So please help out any way you can, from volunteering, to donating, or even joining in their September 27th, 2014 Mutt Strut.

Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam will be performing live at the I Wireless Center in Moline, IL. This is something the Quad Cities has been waiting a lifetime for! I have seen them at the Rock Am Ring concert in Germany in 2000 and they put on an awesome show! This show is now sold out, so for those lucky ones that got tickets to this concert, enjoy, I am sure it will be a memoriable time!!!
